Rules by state
Texas
TxDMV's private-sale checklist names the signed title and Form 130-U. It doesn't list a separate bill of sale form. Travis County says Form 130-U "serves as the legal bill of sale."
Florida
HSMV 82050, Notice of Sale and/or Bill of Sale for a Motor Vehicle, Mobile Home, Off-Highway Vehicle or Vessel.
Georgia
Form T-7, Bill of Sale (Georgia Department of Revenue, Motor Vehicle Division).
North Carolina
NCDMV lists a bill of sale for vehicles bought from a dealer. Its list for vehicles bought from an individual doesn't include one.

- Enter the sale date, price and payment method, and choose "as is" or a written warranty.
- Click Create my PDF. Print two copies and have everyone sign by hand.
- Each side keeps a signed copy. Then finish the title or registration steps using the official sources on this page.
Questions
Is this bill of sale generator really free?
Yes. There's no signup, no trial and no paywall. Fill in the form and download the PDF.
Is my information uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is built by code running in your browser. What you type isn't sent to our servers or stored.
Is this an official state form?
No. It's a general bill of sale. Some states have their own forms, for example Florida's HSMV 82050 and Georgia's Form T-7. Each state page links to the official source.
Does a bill of sale transfer the title?
No. Titles transfer through the state or county office. Each state page explains where that happens, with links to the official source.
Not legal advice. This site gives general information and a free document tool. It is not a law firm and is not affiliated with any government agency. Rules and forms change, so confirm requirements with your state agency or county office before you sign. A bill of sale does not transfer a title by itself.
